Solid-Liquid Separation (SLS)
The SLS is a system used for the separation of micro-solids from dilute solutions.Operating at around 94% less energy than a centrifuge, this low-energy system has applications in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, feed, chemical, wastewater, and biofuels industries. Winner of a highly competitive US Department of Energy ARPA-E $5.9 million merit award for the harvesting of algae, the SLS is poised to disrupt the $6 billion centrifuge separations market and is being sold and licensed internationally.
