Algaeventure Systems (AVS) is requesting proposals seeking potential field demonstration sites to use and evaluate AVS’ Solid-Liquid Separation (SLS) system for large-scale algae dewatering. As part of AVS’ scaling and commercialization project under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency—Energy (ARPA-E), this RFP will target the nation’s leading algae producers to evaluate the SLS system on an industrial scale under real-world conditions.

AVS will consider demonstration sites across a range of algae growth configurations and will select sites based upon production output, type of growth system, algae species and regional location. AVS will also consider non-algae dewatering applications for potential demonstration sites, including dilute micro-solids recovery in food, waste and remediation processes.

AVS has developed the SLS technology for separating suspended algae from solution. AVS is a spinoff company from Univenture, Inc., an environmentally conscious plastics packaging manufacturer.
